Final Fantasy Versus XIII is Not Cancelled
Final Fantasy Versus XIII is still coming
A couple days ago we reported that Square Enix had supposedly cancelled Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Well that’s not the case. Square Enix CEO revealed that Final Fantasy Versus XIII is still in development via Twitter today.
“There’s someone making a false rumour that Versus was cancelled,” he said. “Haha… just a minute ago, the regular Versus meeting ended. If you saw the presentation of the city, it’d knock you off your feet – lol.”
A lot of people suspected that is was cancelled because we didn’t hear anything about the game at E3. When reports of the title’s cancellation surfaced on Kotaku last week, Square Enix refused to comment on rumours or speculation, further fuelling our fears. Now that we know that the game is not cancelled. It might be the Final Fantasy announcement Square Enix is planning for September 1st. Which is when there 25th anniversary will be taking place.
Final Fantasy Versus XII was originally announced in 2006 as part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis series of games. The other two titles in the series announced at the same time, Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Type-0 have both been released, and Final Fantasy XII-2 has also been announced and launched since.
