Mario Wii U to be Shown at E3 2012 by Miyamoto?
Mario Wii U Rumored to be shown at E3 2012
Let the E3 2012 rumor’s begin.
According to an interview with a Spanish magazine, which has since been pulled, Miyamoto said he would be showing on a new Mario title for the Wii U this June at E3 2012. Gamers for awhile have been debating which of the big three Nintendo franchises Nintendo would go with for a Wii U launch title. With Zelda closing out the Wii, and Metroid having weak showing with The Other M, it would make most sense for Nintendo to choose Mario as their system seller. Obviously the title will use the combination on the TV and Wii U tablet, but rumors are saying that the tablet will be used in ways that are completely unexpected.
Playstation 4 Aiming to Release Before Xbox 720
Playstation 4 before Holiday 2013?
Different sources are saying they got word that Sony is planning to release the Playstation 4, before Microsoft releases the Xbox 720. Last week, rumored specs for the Playstation 4 were released, code named Orbis, and the specs seem to be getting more powerful. An AMD processor seems most likely since the Cell processor was not developer friendly. Direct X is also said to be the API instead of Sony using their own software.
Is A New Soul Reaver Title In The Works?
Fans of the classic action series Soul Reaver may be in for a treat, as a report from VG247 states that developer Crystal Dynamics is working on a new entry in the series. So far, details are scarce and it’s not entirely sure if the title is just a new game or a complete reboot. However, the rumor does state that we can probably expect to hear more about the title sometime around E3. This is excellent news, as I remember the Soul Reaver games to be really fun, unique action/puzzle/platform games with excellent atmosphere, story, and gameplay.

Valve to Announce a Console?
Valve Looking to Shake Up PC Gaming?
According to the guys over at Vox Games, Valve could be announcing a “console” at GDC.
The rumor states that Valve will be essentially announcing a PC that is built around the Steam interface. The console will have 8 gigs of ram, Intel I7 processor, and an Nvida GPU.
This idea honestly makes a lot of sense, especially after Valve announced their Big Picture Mode at last year’s GDC. Big Picture Mode will allow for games to take advantage and scale the image to the appropriate size, something that PC’s have always had trouble doing. If Valve makes this move it would allow developers a specific set of requirements and allow them to make their games perform better. Valve’s Steam network is growing fast, and it offers arguably the best online experience for PC games. It won’t be long till we see if this rumor becomes true.
Check out Vox games for even more possibilities.
The Boondock Saints Game in the Works?
The Boondock Saints to be at SXSW?
Critical Mass Studios is once again teasing that a video game based off the 1999 cult classic, The Boondock Saints.
Next month at SXSW the cast members from The Boondock Saints, along with Critical Mass, is expected to officially announce the video game tie in. Last year director Troy Duffy said he had been given an idea about a game tie in, but never confirmed anything was in the works. Details are scare but SXSW is from March 9th through the 18th, so we will not have to wait long. Hopefully the game won’t be just a cover based shooter, and will somehow dig deep into the unique style of The Boondock Saints.
ATLUS Is Teasing Something
In an e-mail sent to members of the ATLUS Faithful newsletter, recipients received a blank message and a completely black image. After saving the image and adjusting brightness levels, the words “Stay Tuned” appear in front of what looks like broken glass.
Creepy? Yes. Awesome? Double Yes.
The rumor behind the cryptic message is that we will be hearing about Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena getting localized. For those who aren’t in the know, the game is a 2D fighter developed by Arc System Works (Guilty Gear, BlazBlue) that hasn’t yet been confirmed for a release outside of Japan. Being a fan of both Arc System Works and an even bigger fan of Persona 4, I’m extremely excited with this news. We’ll keep you posted when the mystery behind the message is revealed. Now if they would only start hinting towards the next Shin Megami Tensei game…
