Nintendo pre-E3 2012 presentation
Did you miss Nintendo’s Pre-E3 presentation? Don’t worry you didn’t miss much of anything, I watched the live broadcast so you didn’t have to.
Nintendo pre-E3 starts here!
Nintendo’s pre-E3 presentation started with some quick announcements that many won’t care, like Mii announcements.
Interestingly they talked about the controller’s name and how it came to be, the Wii U’s controller will be named “The Wii U Game Pad”.
The controller received its name thanks to the NES’s controllers which many gamers dubbed “The Game Pad”; Nintendo thought that name would be fitting for their unique controller.
The “Game Pad” has a touchscreen, gyro, motion control and oh yeah a data reader.
Nintendo didn’t really show how the reader works but said it can read certain data; the reader is located on the mid-left side of the controller that looks like a square.
Nintendo was sure to mention that the controller is compatible with the original Wii controller, including the nunchucks and the Wii Fit board, yet there was no word if the new system can use multiple Wii U Game Pad controllers.
