The upcoming Retaliation DLC pack for Mass Effect 3 brings a lot of goodies to the party. The Collectors make a return as a new enemy faction with the Collector Praetorian, Scion, Abomination, Trooper and Captain, while Cerberus continues to cause trouble with the addition of the Dragoon and the Geth roll out new drones. Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut brings some Clarification and Closure
Note: Massive spoilers are in this post you have been warned.
Before I begin I want to say I’m a dedicated fan to the Mass effect series. I’ve spent more hours in Mass Effect 3, than I have in any other game to this date. Needless to say I was hurt when I saw the ending to Mass Effect 3. It just had too many plot holes and I didn’t care for the star child and the whole Deus Ex Human Revolution ending. But now the extended cut is out and it fixes some plot holes and clarifies things a bit.
Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut coming June 26th
Bioware has announced that the Mass Effect 3 extended ending will be coming out June 26th for free and will be on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. The game download will be 1.9 gigabytes.
“The Extended Cut expands on the endings of Mass Effect 3 through additional scenes and epilogue sequences, It provides more of the answers and closure that players have been asking for. It gives a sense of what the future holds as a result of the decisions made throughout the series. And it shows greater detail in the successes or failures based on how players achieved their endings.” Bioware said on their site.
By now everyone should know about the infamous Mass Effect 3 ending problem, even if you don’t play Mass Effect 3, and the fact that many fans are very upset about how Bioware handled Shepard and company’s final push against the Reapers.
For those who are not following along with the story allow me to give you the short version, fans of Mass Effect felt unsatisfied and cheated about the ending of Mass Effect 3.
Now, you may be wondering why this is such a big deal, you might be asking “People are left unsatisfied and unhappy about endings to plenty of their favorite game, why is this game so special?”
In all honesty it’s not the game that’s truly special but the promise made years ago from Bioware, saying that every decision the player makes will be a factor in the game’s universe.
