The upcoming Retaliation DLC pack for Mass Effect 3 brings a lot of goodies to the party. The Collectors make a return as a new enemy faction with the Collector Praetorian, Scion, Abomination, Trooper and Captain, while Cerberus continues to cause trouble with the addition of the Dragoon and the Geth roll out new drones. Balancing those threats are new class kits including the Turian Havoc Soldier and Turian Ghost Infiltrator, plus the promise of “many more being added on a regular basis.”

Collector weapons including the Assault Rifle, Sub-Machine Gun and Sniper Rifle will be added as unlockables, as will new ammo mods and gear upgrades.

Finally, a new “Challenge” feature will be added to multiplayer that will allow players to track their online accomplishments, compare them with friends and earn “Challenge Points,” which can be used to unlock special titles and banners that “allow you to personalize your multiplayer experience.”

Note: Massive spoilers are in this post you have been warned.

Before I begin I want to say I’m a dedicated fan to the Mass effect series. I’ve spent more hours in Mass Effect 3, than I have in any other game to this date. Needless to say I was hurt when I saw the ending to Mass Effect 3. It just had too many plot holes and I didn’t care for the star child and the whole Deus Ex Human Revolution ending.  But now the extended cut is out and it fixes some plot holes and clarifies things a bit.

Now, you may be wondering why this is such a big deal, you might be asking “People are left unsatisfied and unhappy about endings to plenty of their favorite game, why is this game so special?”

In all honesty it’s not the game that’s truly special but the promise made years ago from Bioware, saying that every decision the player makes will be a factor in the game’s universe.
