Tom Jones Discusses Vita Exclusive Killzone Mercenary

The folks over at the PlayStation Blog have often been privy to information before anyone, else for obvious reasons and today the delivered new information about the highly anticipated Vita title Killzone Mercenary. In an interview with Creative Director Tom Jones PlayStation Blog was able illicit some very intriguing information about the game and theory behind it. Jones was quoted as calling the game as the “best looking game on Vita” while having the ability to “stand on its own two feet”. For Vita owners who have been searching for a good shooter the idea that it will have its own unique story treatment would seem to dissuade fears of a Call of Duty Declassified or Resistance Burning Skies style failure.

Sony Purchases Gaikai, Prepares for Cloud Gaming

Gaikai purchased by Sony for 380 million dollars.

After months and months of rumors, Sony has finally confirmed that they have purchase the cloud gaming service known as Gaikai.

David Perry, the found of Gaikai, had the following to say about the purchase by Sony:

“Sony has built an incredible brand with PlayStation and has earned the respect of countless millions of gamers worldwide.

“We’re honored to be able to help Sony rapidly harness the power of the interactive cloud and to continue to grow their ecosystem, to empower developers with new capabilities, to dramatically improve the reach of exciting content and to bring breathtaking new experiences to users worldwide.”

The Darkness II is a Great Ride.

It’s been 5 years since we last saw The Darkness, but it’s back and stronger than ever. With Jackie having trouble forgetting about his dark past, The Darkness looks to make him their host for eternity. Should you embrace The Darkness, or is this a title best left in the dark?

The Darkness II takes place 2 years after the original title. Jackie is now the Don of the Franchetti crime family, and looks to become the most powerful crime lords that nobody will want to double cross. The Darkness has been contained by Jackie with the help of Johnny Powell, but it wants to once again be released to destroy everything in its path. Jackie is having trouble keeping the Darkness at bay due to the reoccurring visions of his girlfriend Jenny, and the visions are becoming stronger every day.

Playstation Vita Games Will Be Cheaper to Download

A long running rumor has finally been confirmed by Sony. A Sony representative has finally confirmed that Playstation Vita games will be cheaper then the retail versions.

“I can confirm that there will be a discount on the downloadable PS Vita titles from PSN. Exact details have not yet been revealed, but be on the lookout for an announcement in the very near future.”

This is a move that many expected since Sony has said in the past that they want to push digital games, instead of focusing on retail. The discount is expected to be around 10%, but other rumors suggest that some could be as high as 40%.

AT&T Confirms Data Prices for Vita

CES 2012 is upon us!

AT&T has unveiled the data prices for the Vita, and the rumors were true. Data plans will start at $14.99 for 250MB, or $24.99 for 2GB. These numbers are no surprise since they are the same rates they charge for smartphones. Seems a little pricey for a device that isn’t even sold by AT&T, but starting on February 22nd you will be able to get Vita on!
