Video Game Music of the Week: Mega Turrican

That’s right, we’re bringing back our feature on outstanding pieces of video game music, although with a few changes. In this weekly feature, we’ll be showcasing several tracks from a particular game and give a bit of history on the game as well. Enjoy!

Game: Mega Turrican (Sega Genesis, 1993)

You know how you would rent a game when you were younger that you still remember to this day? Mega Turrican for the Sega Genesis was that game for me. In the game, you play as a space marine with an awesome cybernetic suit tasked with repelling an alien force. The game featured tight platforming, non-stop explosions, and a morph ball mode that acted as the unholy love child between Sonic’s spindash and Samus’ morph ball. However over all those things I mentioned, even though it’s been well over a decade since I first played the game, I’ll never forget the music to the game’s first stage:
