wow, I can't believe there are still diehard nintendo fanboys out there. Something about this conversation seems so familiar. I don't know if any of you were around back in the day before nintendo released the specs of the wii (Back before nintendo decided to axe their forums). There were constant flame wars and debates that next gen system specs weren't finalized and there was no way of telling if the 360 and ps3 were really going to be more powerful than the wii. Then there was the release, and it turned out the wii was a half console. I'm not saying it was bad, it had some fantastic title, but corey is right. Most 3rd party developers want to create their titles on systems that have the best graphics and are capable of deploying the most realistic physics engines. Get mad about it all you want, but no third party developer is going to waste time and money porting their game to a system that in the end will not translate to a well polished game. I share your fear cory. It feels like deja vu, and it looks like nintendo is going to get stuck in between generations again, which is a real shame. There is no doubt that the system will be the top contender for the next year or two (before the sony and microsoft launches), but thats only because its contended with the last generation. To say we dont even know if microsoft is coming out with a next gen console (@Kolby) is ignorant. You can burry your head in the sand if you like, but rest a sure these companies are not just going to vanish because you say so. They're holding off for a couple year and creating a technology gap between them and nintendo (once again), and you can sure as hell guess where all the 3rd party developers are going. I love you nintendo, and hope you still have something big to pull out of your hat at E3, but it feels just like it did last time. Wii U.... WHYYYYYYYYY?

I think Nintendo would be the best source for information on the Wii U. Here is what they had to say :)

“We do not focus on technology specs," Nintendo told Yahoo's Digital Trends. "We understand that people like to dissect graphics and processing power, but the experience of playing will always be more important than raw numbers.”

Balls mate, "on par" based on one quote you choose to listen to and ignore the dozens of others which say the WiiU is a true next gen machine. How's that work? You know absolutely nothing about the WiiU and you should hang your head in shame that you felt you knew enough to write about it in public. Dear oh dear. Embarrassing.

Yes the wii-u will be underpowered. it will be on par with PS3. making the wii-u at least 5 years behind next gen tech.
it will sell like hotcakes because of japan fanboys though.
however, i think the biggest failure of the wii was the controller, not the power. the game cube controller is terrible, and the motion controls were inaccurate and, well, not for gaming.

Cory "on par" is bullshit You have no idea about hardware if you really think so. OR you are a smart ass making this up because you create more CLICKS this way. Well IF ps4 etc are also underpowered they are also even less next gen and therefore the nextgen will be more powerful than ps4 etc.

so in case you are not so smart and really believe that WiiU is as powerful as sexbox and the slaystation look at this video it EXPLAINES the Hardware!
